Spoiler Alert!

If you haven’t seen Inside Out 2, go see it! Many Spoilers ahead.

Anxiety

Did you catch that line when Joy tells her team that she will go back to control and tell anxiety she has nothing to worry about, and everything will be fine?

Sometimes a well-intentioned, “don’t worry,” doesn’t land the way we intend it to.

An Easter Egg

Did you notice that some of Riley’s memories had more than one color (emotion) to them?

Who helps Joy?

Remember when Joy breaks down and feels like maybe she just can’t help Riley and isn’t needed anymore. Who extends a helping hand in that moment but Anger. At first it seems out of character, but it makes sense.

Anger can drive us forward to do what we think cannot be done because we are tired of how things are and want better for ourselves. Anger gives us the courage to fight for what we believe in even if it feels like a losing battle.

My Favorite Part

My favorite part of the movie is when Sadness tells Joy, “She’s calling you,” and there’s a light guiding joy to the control panel. It reminds the viewer that, ultimately, it’s not the emotions that control us but us accessing our emotions to enhance the daily moments of our lives. We listen to and work with our emotions and aren’t we lucky to have so many of them on our team!
